Our Approach

At Family Support Solutions Inc., we are proud to have a dedicated, multidisciplinary team committed to empowering children and families. Each team member brings specialized expertise, working collaboratively to provide holistic, individualized support.

Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP)

Our SLP's help children build communication skills — from speaking clearly and using words effectively, to understanding language and developing social interaction skills. They also support feeding and swallowing challenges when needed, using playful, engaging methods that meet each child where they are.

Behaviour Consultants (BC)

Our BC's specialize in understanding and supporting behaviour. They collaborate closely with families to identify challenges, promote positive behaviours, and create customized, proactive strategies that work in the real world — always respecting the child’s needs and strengths.

Occupational Therapists (OT)

Our OT's focus on helping children succeed in the daily activities that matter most — including self-care routines, feeding and swallowing, and play. They support fine motor skills, sensory regulation, and adaptive strategies to promote confidence and functional independence.

Behaviour Consultant Supervisor

Our BC Supervisor is a key support for caregivers and for the BC Team. They help families navigate resources, routines, and services, and provide emotional and practical guidance. The BC Supervisor walks alongside families, ensuring they feel equipped, informed, and supported at every step of their journey.  The BC Supervisor works closely with the Clinical Lead/Administrator.

Physiotherapists (PT)

Our PT's work with children to improve strength, balance, mobility, and coordination. Their goal is to support participation in everyday routines — from walking and climbing to engaging in recreational activities — helping children build confidence and independence through movement.

Clinical Lead/Administrator

Our Clinical Lead/Administrator plays a vital role in supporting families and clinicians by coordinating directly with Alberta’s Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) program. They develop family service plans, ensures programs are integrated and coordinated,  manage service agreements, ensure compliance with provincial FSCD guidelines, and act as a liaison between FSSI, FSCD, and families. Their work helps ensure smooth, efficient service delivery — so families can focus on what matters most.  The Clinical Lead/Administrator works closely with the BC Supervisor.

FSSI  respectfully acknowledges that we are located on Treaty 6 territory
